1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using GeniSteps (the "Application" or "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Application.
2. License Grant & Permitted Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, The Geni Solutions grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and royalty-free license to download, install, and use the Application on your compatible mobile devices (iOS and Android) for your personal, non-commercial fitness purposes.
- You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive source code from binary builds, except where permitted by applicable law.
- You may not redistribute, sell, rent, or lease the Application to any third party.
3. Local-First Architecture & Data Sovereignty
GeniSteps is engineered as a 100% Local-First Application:
- All biometric data, step counts, workout logs, routines, and streak freezes are stored exclusively in local SQLite on your device.
- Because The Geni Solutions maintains no central cloud user servers, you are solely responsible for backing up your data using the built-in 1-Tap Export (CSV and JSON) tools in Settings.
- Uninstalling the Application or clearing application storage on your smartphone will permanently erase all local SQLite databases and historical metrics from the device.
4. Zero Subscriptions & Pricing Transparency
GeniSteps provides access to its core features—including hardware motion tracking, cadence zones, lock-screen live counters, streak freezes, and data exports—free of recurring subscription charges. There are no hidden recurring paywalls.
5. Sensor Accuracy & Technical Limitations
GeniSteps relies on native device motion silicon (Apple CoreMotion coprocessor and Android hardware step sensors). While tuned with 4th-order digital signal bandpass filters (0.8–3.5 Hz) and transit mode algorithms:
- Step counts, distance, cadence (SPM), and caloric burn estimates are mathematical approximations based on stride mechanics and anthropometric heuristics.
- Operating system power optimizations, aggressive OEM background task cleaners, or hardware faults may occasionally pause or delay sensor accumulation.
6. Third-Party Health Integrations
Optional synchronization with Apple Health (HealthKit) or Android Health Connect operates under your direct operating system permissions. The Geni Solutions is not responsible for data synchronization behavior, omissions, or errors originating within external third-party health repositories.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
The GeniSteps name, brand marks, logos, user interface designs, visual artwork, and custom algorithms are the exclusive intellectual property of The Geni Solutions. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE GENI SOLUTIONS, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION, INCLUDING PHYSICAL INJURY OR DATA LOSS.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to revise or replace these Terms at any time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Application following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
